MASTERCLASS: THE MASTERY OF IMMERSION28/10/2018
Within the program The Mastery of Immersion of MIRA 2018, on Wednesday November 7 we will host a masterclass at MIRA Dome by adidas Originals in collaboration with FIU Barcelona, Eyesberg Studio and Telenoika. Focused on 360º content creation for fulldome, the masterclass will present several examples of storytelling and the different possibilities to transform it into an immersive experience.
We will start with an introduction to the project “The Mastery of Immersion” by Humbert Clotet, CEO and co-founder of FIU House. Next, Jose Vaaliña, founder and creative director of Eyesberg Studio, will show a case study of immersive work through the process of creating a pre roll for the MIRA Dome by adidas Originals, which this year is inspired by the quartering of his new POD sneaker. Besides, we will project the latest fulldome production by Eyesberg Studio, which will close with the second part of José Vaaliña’s masterclass.
We will continue with the masterclass of Tom Scholefield aka Konx-om-Pax, renowned graphic designer, musician and visual artist, which will give us a focus on the narrative and creative process of 360 pieces, and we will exclusively project his fulldome piece “Contemporary Hardcore”, which will also be screened during the three days of the festival.
To close the masterclass, we will screen a special pass of David O’Reilly‘s 360º “Eye of the Dream”, a piece that is an evolution of his award-winning videogame “Everything” and that will also be screened throughout MIRA 2018. We are talking about a real-time simulation that is governed by a series of interconnected systems inspired by musical composition. This piece is part of The New Infinity Tour, co-produced by Berliner Festspiele / Immersion and Planetarium Hamburg.
